Steve is a Director at Lazear focused on ESOPs and Mergers & Acquisitions. Prior to joining the firm, Steve was Vice President of Financial Planning and Analysis for Beam Benefits—one of the fastest growing tech companies in North America—where he played an integral role in capital raising, corporate development, strategic planning, and corporate finance as a member of the Senior Leadership Team.

Previously, Steve was a Manager in Deloitte’s M&A practice where he advised private equity and strategic clients on acquisitions, divestitures, joint ventures, and IPO readiness. Steve began his career at the Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB), where he helped write new accounting standards under U.S. GAAP.

Steve graduated Summa Cum Laude from The Ohio State University where he earned his BSBA and Master of Accounting degrees. He also holds Certified Public Accountant (CPA) licenses in Ohio and Illinois.
