Bruce Lazear is the founding Partner of Lazear Capital Partners, Ltd. He founded Lazear Capital in 1999 to fill a void that he perceived in the marketplace for a middle-market oriented financial advisory firm to assist entrepreneurial owners with their Mergers and Acquisition (“M&A”) activity. The firm’s overriding goal has always been to maximize value creation for the benefit of its clients, many of whom lack significant M&A experience. Since most business owners spend their adult years building one company, it’s imperative that when they decide to transition ownership that they surround themselves with deeply experienced financial advisors capable of maximizing their value upon sale. Bruce is deeply passionate about representing business owners in the most important deal of their lives and delivering to them superlative outcomes.

Bruce has extensive Merger and Acquisition experience, having led the negotiation of over 300 transactions. Amongst his most valuable strengths are his negotiating ability and his grasp of the highly technical issues that ultimately drive value for the firm’s clients.

His key focus is assisting business owners in the sale of their companies. Bruce has led buy-side, sell-side, ESOP, and Management Buyout transactions for over 30 years. In addition, he has also been involved with numerous distressed company transactions, culminating in recapitalizations, going concern sales and liquidations. Bruce has also negotiated numerous corporate finance transactions in support of the firm’s M&A activities.

Bruce is an attorney, having received his JD from The Ohio State University College of Law. He received his BA in Economics, magna cum laude, with Honors in Liberal Arts and Distinction in Economics from The Ohio State University.
