As a Managing Director at Lazear’s Charlotte office, Josh specializes in working with business owners across the Southeast, with a particular focus on the Carolinas.

​With over two decades of experience in Middle Market Banking and Capital Markets, Josh has dedicated a significant portion of his career to serving the Charlotte, NC area since 2007. Prior to his time in Charlotte, he worked in the Financial Services Practice at E&Y in Washington, D.C.

​Throughout his career, Josh has been extensively involved with privately held family businesses and public companies. He has provided valuable guidance to clients on debt capital solutions and strategic alternatives, including M&A financing.

​In his most recent role, Josh successfully led the Middle Market banking group in the North Carolina and Virginia markets for SouthState Bank, a Southeastern-based institution with assets totaling $45 billion, making it one of the top 30 largest banks in the US.

​Josh’s experience collaborating with founders, CEOs, and CFOs throughout the Southeast uniquely positions him to provide strategic advice to clients as they navigate transition planning.

​Josh holds a B.S. in Finance from Miami (OH) University. Since 2007, he has been a resident of the Charlotte area, where he currently resides in the Southpark area with his wife and three daughters. In his leisure time, Josh is an active member of the Olde Providence Racquet Club in Charlotte and enjoys traveling and watching his daughters play sports.
