As a Managing Director at Lazear’s Charlotte office, Josh specializes in working with business owners across the Southeast, with a particular focus on the Carolinas.

​With over two decades of experience in Middle Market Banking and Capital Markets, Josh has dedicated a significant portion of his career to serving the Charlotte, NC area since 2007. Prior to his time in Charlotte, he worked in the Financial Services Practice at E&Y in Washington, D.C.

​Throughout his career, Josh has been extensively involved with privately held family businesses and public companies. He has provided valuable guidance to clients on debt capital solutions and strategic alternatives, including M&A financing.

​In his most recent role, Josh successfully led the Middle Market banking group in the North Carolina and Virginia markets for SouthState Bank, a Southeastern-based institution with assets totaling $45 billion, making it one of the top 30 largest banks in the US.

​Josh’s experience collaborating with family shareholders, CEOs, and CFOs throughout the Southeast uniquely positions him to provide strategic advice to clients as they navigate their business transition.

​Josh holds a B.S. in Finance from Miami (OH) University and has been a resident in the Charlotte community since 2007. Josh is an active member of the Olde Providence Racquet Club and spends time with the Carolinas Association of General Contractors (CAGC) and the Construction Financial Management Association (CFMA) in Charlotte.
